Indicating the visitors paths, this analysis demonstrates the characteristics and parameters of one of the main staircases of the Jardin du Luxembourg. The lines describe the pace depending on the direction of passing - the more dense and wider the linear arrangement on one curve, the slower the speed and the higher the tendency to rest. the staircase itself develops out of the communication of the single pathways within the allocated space. The result is a schematic diagram, depicting the evidence of the staircase and its steps to the visitors of the park.

This cartography of the “walking sound” has been realised on the gravel tracks of the Jardin du Luxembourg. It demostrates the origin of the sound heard, the intensity, and the way it develops over a period of analysed time.

The cartography focuses on the contact between the couples walking or relaxing in the park. The degree of physical touch between the couples is resumed into 3 major groups: walking hand in hand - arm in arm - kissing eachother.
The intensity of each activity is represented by circles of di erent sizes which also indicate the range of the area in uenced by the activity.
